Aberfan 30th Anniversary
Of Tragedy.
Drenched by the valley
smell of their dust left
that will fly forever.
They still weep dry tears
now for time has killed
their emotion;
Can they smile truly now
life gone, still
inhabits the cwm memory?
Nothing is ever really
lost maybe;
Scented remains light the
town and its people now
The pain of Aberfan still
flames their raw hearts.
Their tears still will
be shed on this loss,
Swept up and back through
the history of time.
Still this sleepy enclave
of mixed happy and sad
breathes.
Still it has to have survived
that evil day,
Its people filled with
a remorse at the time for
nature's cruelty again
unchecked.
Now thirty years hence,
a strange calm still hovers
over what might have been.
