WHO IS THIS TYRANT CALLED DEATH?

Who is this tyrant called Death ?

That struts across and knifes at living,

That takes with vengeful strength,

Pulls the chord that cuts the journey,

Creeps darkly up at the wall

and splits the jewel of its light,

Dims the light of its power, and blacks

the soul of its zest.

Shake out the white altar sheet

as light glows and vanishes black.

You  now are no longer on the

sacrificial slab in white death wrap.

Ring the bell of toll, bleak

eyed they seek light.
